Recently, the South China International Coffee Exchange (SCCE) was officially inaugurated in Guangzhou.
The establishment of this innovation center is an important measure for Guangzhou to leverage its geographical advantages and industrial foundation to promote the high-quality development of the coffee industry. It marks a solid step taken by Guangzhou in building a coffee industry trading platform that faces the South China region, radiates across the country, and connects the world.

Guangzhou is an important gateway city for coffee raw beans import and consumption in China. Nansha Port and Huangpu Port are among the main channels through which coffee raw beans enter the Chinese market. The number of coffee stores in the city ranks among the top in the country and first in the South China region. The foundation for coffee equipment manufacturing and other supporting industries is solid, and it has unique advantages and favorable conditions for developing a coffee spot trading platform.
The South China International Coffee Trading Innovation Center is positioned as a coffee spot trading platform serving the real economy. Leveraging the advantages of Guangzhou in import distribution, bonded warehousing, consumer market and supply chain hub, it provides comprehensive services such as spot trading, warehousing logistics, finance and information for domestic and foreign coffee traders, roasting enterprises and brand clients, and promotes the aggregation of resources along the coffee industry chain in Guangzhou.

The South China International Coffee Trading Innovation Center, under the guidance of the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau, was jointly established by Huidai Center, Euro Coffee, and Guangdong Central Coffee. It also introduced a professional coffee trading team with mature operation experience and the upstream and downstream supply chain to settle in, forming a standardized construction model under government guidance, with the collaboration of state-owned enterprises and professional operation. At the same time, the South China International Coffee Trading Innovation Center, in collaboration with Guangzhou Port, Guangdong Futures Exchange, and Huidai, jointly created the South China International Coffee Raw Bean Distribution Center and signed a strategic framework agreement to jointly strive for the improvement of the coffee supply chain.

At the ceremony, the first batch of cooperation agreements were signed simultaneously. The center and companies such as Jianzhen Capital, Xiangji Coffee, Gaolingyue Coffee, Huasheng Coffee, Zaiya Coffee, Ti Li Coffee, Hua Liu Coffee, as well as representatives from the production areas, jointly signed a framework agreement for 3,000 tons of coffee raw beans. The center has completed transactions for 130 tons of coffee raw beans from countries such as Vietnam, Ethiopia, Uganda, Costa Rica, and Colombia. The co-founder of the center, Qiu Wei, said that they aim to build the innovation center into a representative link and bridge for Chinese and foreign coffee within three years, contributing to the development of coffee industries in South China and across China.
A relevant official from the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau stated that in the next step, Guangzhou will take the construction of the South China International Coffee Trading Innovation Center as an opportunity to continuously improve the coffee industry ecosystem, strengthen the standardized operation and risk prevention of the platform, guide the industry to develop healthily and orderly, and strive to make the center become a coffee industry trading service platform that is based in South China, serves the whole country, and faces the world. Efforts will be made to accelerate the creation of a new international coffee industry base.
