Panama’s finest specialty coffees are returning to an international auction that has set price records in past years, hitting $30,204 per kilogram in 2025. Scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. Panama Time on an electronic platform, the auction will see top global coffee buyers from Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas bid for highly sought‑after coffee beans grown in the mountainous regions of Panama’s Chiriquí Province.
These 50 premium coffee lots, each weighing 15 kilograms, all received top ratings in the “Best of Panama” competition hosted by the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama (SCAP). The auction will open with a starting price of $400 per kilogram for washed and natural‑processed Geisha coffee, and $100 per kilogram for other varieties. Organizers confirmed that the auction will feature 40 lots of Geisha coffee and 10 lots of other varieties, totalling 750 kilograms.
More than 256 buyers from countries and regions including Australia, Europe, the United States, China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore have been approved to take part in the BOP auction. Anyone may view auction information via the website [https://bestofpanama.auction/](https://bestofpanama.auction/), yet only approved buyers are eligible to place bids.
“Buyers approved for bidding will be assigned a code, which they can use to submit their price offers per kilogram for each lot,” said Ricardo Coyna, President of SCAP. The auction will comprise 40 lots of Geisha coffee and 10 lots of other coffee varieties. Bidding will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
Buyers from Australia, Europe, the United States, China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, the Middle East and elsewhere may participate. This references the all‑time high auction price of $30,204 per kilogram set by Hacienda la Esmeralda Geisha GW‑01 at the 2025 auction. This washed‑processed coffee bean was purchased by Julith Coffee of Dubai.
